innovaphone Solutions Now Approved for Maritime Use

Sindelfingen, April 29th, 2019 – With the globally recognized DNV GL approval, innovaphone products can now also be used on high seas. DNV GL certification, which was created by the merger of Det Norske Veritas and Germanischer Lloyd, is based on strict standards for use on seagoing vessels, freight, container and work ships as well as high-speed crafts and mobile offshore units. The innovaphone VoIP gateway IP811 and the analog adapter IP29-8 underwent a rigorous test procedure for certification.

The conditions on ships and oil platforms are fundamentally different from those on land: High humidity and high salt concentration in the air, constant vibrations, explosive environments and high temperature fluctuations place much higher demands on technical products in terms of resilience than conventional use. The approval of the innovaphone IP811 VoIP gateway, the IP29-8 analog adapters and IP111 end devices means that the innovaphone communication solution including IP telephony and Unified Communications can now also be used on board! All three products are EN60945 approved. The stricter certification requirements as per DNV GL-CG-0339 were also implemented for the gateway components and the analog adapter.
